Alternate Sides Trailer

We are excited to add Kirk's grandson to our family. Kirk passed wonderful attitude, balance and movement onto his daughter Bella and that has continued on to the next generation. That in combination with his father's bone size, angulation and topline gives us high hopes for Bones' future show career.
Bones loves showing as much as Kirk! With limited showing he earned his Championship.
He won breed at the ESMF supported entry for his very first showing as a special!
Bones has been a favorite at Meet the Breed events with people coming back year after year to visit with him. He is also a movie star appearing in the short file Alternate Sides along with Spock and Gerry Bamman (Home Alone).
Bones was bred and co-owned by Eileen Durante of Celestial Mastiffs.

Remembering Bones
I'm very sorry to say that we lost Bones Sunday night. I know I'm on safe ground when I say that Bones was MY dog. He was my favorite and everyone in the house called him YOUR dog. If anyone witnessed him misbehaving and told me "Your dog did such and such" my reply was always "You are mistaken". He followed me everywhere, snuggled in bed, sat next to me on the couch and demanded my undivided attention. And I do mean demanded. He inherited the mouthy Kirk gene. If anyone else would sit next to me he would stand in the middle of the room and bark until he got his due. If that didn't work he would get on the couch next them and stare until the offender couldn't bear his laser stare and moved off. Then he would move in, lay across my lap and sigh.
From the time he was a puppy he was fun to show. But it quickly became clear that he he didn't show because he loved showing, he showed because he could do it with me. If I handed him off to anyone else he couldn't even go in a straight line. He was my breed education dog. Anything AKC or MCOA needed he was willing to go with me. He loved Meet the Breeds. He looked forward to seeing Dr Newman every year. Dr Bill would come to booth and say "Where is my buddy Bones" and Bones would drape himself across his lap. Bones is the only dog I've had who thought when you said "Sit" it meant he should back up and sit like a human on he couch or across your lap. Only as a last resort (and of course for a treat) did he sit on the floor.
He loved his girls, and Joe. If he felt Spock and Rouge were getting too rough with any of them, he would go over and be the referee. He would check on the girls at night and make sure they were ok, sit with them when they were sick and wait patiently to get to lick their yogurt containers clean. We could not have asked for a better buddy for the girls.
The loss of any dog leaves a big whole in a family— I don’t think I’ll get an argument when I say a Mastiff leaves a massive hole. It’s a bit too quiet, I miss the nudges and the paw pokes. I miss MY dog. It will take us a while to get used to our pack less one but he left us plenty of good memories.
